Toastin' For Love


We have all been there guys... what do I do for my girl on Valentine's Day?  We suggest making her a delicious treat. Girls love guys who can cook! Plus, it shows how you actually put time into making her something sweet.

We've put together a sweet treat out of coconut and chocolate for you to make your girl. We are sure our delicious treat will bring you a ton of love this Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day CocoToasties® by Mac's Toastery


Ingredients (creates four CocoToasties®):
  • 1 cup of coconut
  • 1 egg white (pasteurized eggs, if possible)
  • 5/8 cup of cream
  • 5 oz. dark chocolate
  • 4 large white paper nut cups
  • OPTIONAL: Cacao nibs for garnish
Other Supplies:
  • Heavy Saucepan
  • Sharp Knife
  • Hand Mixer / Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer
  • Copper Bowl or Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl

Lay out your ingredients.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Chop your chocolate into chunks.
*The photo below shows enough for eight treats. Your portion will look lighter.

Place the egg whites in a bowl.
Whip in room temp until they're frothy and start to form peaks.
*You can use the hand mixer or the stand mixer for this step.
Add the coconut and fold into the egg whites using a spoon.

Press the coconut mixture into the white paper nut cups.
*Cover the base and sides to make a shell.
Bake for 8 to 12 minutes, until the coconut mixture gets toasty brown.

Now, while the coconut is toasting, lets make the filling!
Place the cream in the saucepan over medium heat.
Cook until almost boiling, STIR CONSTANTLY.
Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate.
Stir until the chocolate and melted and the filling is smooth.

Ladle the chocolate filling into the coconut cups.
Sprinkle some of the cacao nips on the top.
Place in the refrigerator for 15 to 20 minutes.
NOW SERVE TO YOUR SWEETIE!

  4. Yum! Great post! It is, however, long with a lot of scrolling. This about this on the mobile experience. Smaller pictures would be very helpful.
